As we begin processing applications for this new cycle, we know that a minimum Science Pre Req GPA is required metric to move an applicant through the admissions process, so how do you handle a student who has Repeated Coursework?
Do you count/calculate (match course with Pre Req) JUST the highest grade and in a sense provide "grade forgiveness" or
Do you count the original low grade (D) and then the higher Repeated grade (B) which would result in a lower Science Pre Req GPA but perhaps be a more accurate reflection of the student's academic journey.
If a student for instance fails Organic Chem 2 3 times before passing, and we are just counting the last and highest grade of a B and in the end, it generates a 3.13 Science Pre Reg GPA, is really a valid indicator of potential Pharmacy School success.
Our review faculty have struggled with how to accurately access grades and GPA's when student repeat courses.
Thanks so much.
