Greetings and welcome to a new year of PharmCAS updates!
Attached is the latest PharmCAS applicant volume report as of September 5, 2025 versus the same time last year.
Applicants: The total number of applicant accounts in the system declined by 22%. However, the number of applicants with a "Submitted" status increased 22%.
Applicant data by state and primary college attended are also included.
Applications: The total number of applications decreased by 17% however, "Submitted" applications increased by 27%.
Although these trends appear to move in opposite directions, it is still early in the application cycle and a variety of factors may be influencing the data. Liaison has confirmed that the method of counting these numbers has remained consistent year to year. Comparisons for public and private programs as well as regional comparisons will be provided later in the fall.
