    Dear colleagues,

The call for AACP committee volunteers is now open through Friday, April 26. This includes service on the Pharm4Me Champions Advisory Committee and the Diverse Student Recruitment and Retention Advisory Committee beginning in July for the 2024-2025 term. Please review the information below to learn about the committee charges, time commitment, and eligibility requirements. Notifications for 2024-2025 committees will be sent to all nominees by June 2024.

NOTE: Volunteers must be individual members of AACP. If interested, join AACP through our secure online membership form. Please contact mail@aacp.org with any questions about your membership.

How to Volunteer: Complete the Committee Volunteer Request form. Volunteering to serve does not guarantee a position on the committee.

    Pharm4Me Champions Advisory Committee Charges:

    • The purpose of the Pharm4Me Champions Advisory Committee is to promote the pharmacy profession. The vision of the committee is that prospective students, educators, advisors, and communities understand and appreciate contemporary pharmacy education and career opportunities. The expected outcome is an increase in the number of qualified applicants who apply to pharmacy school. The committee will also advise AACP staff on the upcoming Pharm4Me Student Ambassadors Program, providing ideas and feedback on how to carry out and improve the program.
    • Desired Skills/ Expertise: Pharmacists, deans, faculty, or staff who understand or support student recruitment efforts for PharmD or graduate pharmaceutical science degree programs.

Diverse Student Recruitment and Retention Advisory Committee Charges:

    • The Diversity in Student Recruitment and Retention (DSRR) Advisory Committee counsels and works in congruence with Association staff and selected governance groups in support of Strategic Goal (3.1) to cultivate and support a more diverse population of learners.
    • Charges:
      • Bring attention to and address the cross-cutting issues in enrollment management that can adversely affect pharmacy learners from diverse backgrounds.
      • Promote the recruitment, admission, retention, and graduation of diverse learners in pharmacy.
      • Develop diversity programs, policies, and resources to support pharmacy educators, staff, and learners.
    • Desired Skills/ Expertise: All volunteers must be administrators, faculty, or staff at a member institution who have roles or responsibilities associated with supporting student diversity efforts associated with recruitment, admissions, or retention

Meetings: The committees' work will be conducted through email, online, and monthly Zoom meetings (times & dates are determined via a poll at the beginning of the 2024-25 term). The committees typically have one in-person meeting during the AACP Annual Meeting. Individuals who are unable to participate in most meetings should not submit their names for consideration.

Terms: Committee members serve for a minimum of one year with the option of being invited to serve for up to two additional terms and shall be active individual members of the Association. Therefore, if you are not an individual member of AACP, you must join prior to serving on the committee. Learn more about individual membership benefits on the AACP website. Selected volunteers will be notified by June 2024 with the first meeting occurring in July 2024. Typically, the first and final meetings of a term occur during an in-person meeting held during the Annual Meeting. AACP does not pay for travel to the Workshop. This location was selected as most committee members plan to be onsite.

Selection Process: Staff strives to identify a diverse and balanced committee relative to geographic location, institution type, demographics, and expertise.

If you have any questions, please email me at dstubbs@aacp.org.

    Thank you,

    Danielle
