Clinical academia APPE rotations offer student pharmacists a unique opportunity to combine direct patient care with teaching and academic responsibilities during the final professional year. This webinar will feature a panel of pharmacy faculty who have implemented or precepted clinical academia APPEs within their programs. Panelists will share insights on rotation structure, learner expectations, teaching activities, and assessment strategies as well as innovative rotation elements that help mimic a clinical faculty schedule. Attendees will gain foundational knowledge to support the development or refinement of clinical academia APPE experiences at their institutions.
Objectives:
- Describe the core components and goals of a clinical academia APPE rotation.
- Identify common as well as innovative teaching, scholarly, and clinical activities incorporated into clinical academia APPEs.
- Explain key considerations for designing and implementing clinical academia APPE rotations
