Embracing Our Teaching Mistakes

When:  May 12, 2026 from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM (ET)

Hosted by the Well-Being and Resiliency Community

What teaching mistakes have you noticed as a learner or instructor? Great teachers learn and grow from their mistakes, whether made on a small scale with individual conversations, or on a larger scale within the classroom, practice setting, or professional venues. This interactive session explores common teaching mistakes and how to leverage them for growth. Whether training future academicians, supporting colleagues, or strengthening your own teaching aptitude, this session is for you.

Objectives:

  • Identify why teaching mistakes have been overlooked and underexplored in higher education and other pharmacy teaching environments.
  • Develop strategies for acknowledging, discussing, and learning from teaching mistakes.
  • Illustrate ways to initiate discussions for normalizing and addressing teaching mistakes at attendee's own institution
