Hosted by the Council of Faculties
We are honored to host pioneering third space researcher Celia Whitchurch, PhD, for a special discussion reflecting on her tenure of research exploring professionals who work in the in-between spaces of higher education.
Many professional staff in pharmacy education operate where academic, administrative, and relational work intersect. Dr. Whitchurch’s scholarship has helped define and legitimize this third space, offering language and frameworks to better understand roles that translate strategy into practice, connect faculty and students, coordinate across units, and bring initiatives to life.
Objectives:
- Reflect on the evolution of third space research
- Explore implications for further study
- Discuss identity formation and community building
- Consider opportunities for greater professional recognition and growth
