When:  May 13, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM (ET)

Hosted by the Drug Information and Library Science Section

The practice of pharmacy continually evolves with advancing technology, yet the core skills of drug information and literature evaluation remain essential. To ensure our graduates are prepared as medication specialists, we must refine how we teach and assess these competencies. In this webinar, we will review the educational guidance documents detailing the knowledge and skills required for drug information and literature evaluation. Presenters will discuss effective activities, supportive literature, and practical assessment strategies to longitudinally scaffold these competencies across the curriculum.

Objectives:

  • Identify key guidance documents that define foundational knowledge and skills for drug information and literature evaluation instruction.
  • Examine evidence-based learning activities and curricular strategies that support the development of these competencies.
  • Describe practical assessment approaches to effectively scaffold and measure students’ drug information and literature evaluation abilities across the curriculum.
  • Critique the role of artificial tools in preparing learners for real-world drug information responsibilities and decision making.
