    Hello colleagues,

We are pleased to share the list of PharmCAS enhancements for the upcoming 2022-2023 cycle. The attached document provides comprehensive information on 47 enhancements for your review. Note that for some listings, you will find a more detailed description on the corresponding tab noted in column D (feature details).

Due to the large amount of information, we have highlighted certain enhancements in this message that we thought were of particular importance to you. Please view the attachment for further details.

    • Removal of Felony and Misdemeanor Questions. To accommodate the evolving needs of applicants and member schools in states with current or pending legislation, the felony and misdemeanor questions will be removed from the Personal Information section (Quadrant 1) of the PharmCAS application beginning in the 2022-2023 admissions cycle.
    • Only Allow Electronic WES Foreign Transcript Evaluations. Beginning in the 2022-2023 admissions cycle, applicants will no longer be able to order mailed paper versions of foreign transcript evaluations – only electronic. With this change, all international applicants will now have an "Official WES GPA" listed under the GPA Overview Tab in WebAdMIT.
    • Fee Waiver Eligible Status Feature. Applicants will be alerted that they qualified for a fee waiver even if the fund is depleted. School users will now be able to view if applicants met the fee waiver requirements in case it impacts their admissions process.
    • Professional Transcript Entry (PTE) Status. Applicants occasionally forget to approve their Professional Transcript Entry (PTE). This enhancement increases the call-to-action to the applicant to review and finalize their PTE.
    • Personal Essay Prompt Included in Full Application PDF. Previously, only the applicant's personal essay was listed in the full application PDF, not the prompt. With this enhancement, the essay prompt is now included before the personal essay in the full application PDF.
    • Citizenship and Residency Information Editable After Submission. Under the Citizenship Information section, applicants who do not list themselves as a U.S. citizen can now update their citizenship and residency statuses after submitting their application.
    • Explore Health Careers Program. A new service to facilitate the application process for "other CAS" applicants who applied to and were denied admission to one health profession program and have agreed to be considered for admission by the college or school of pharmacy at the same institution.
    • Program Plans Feature. PharmCAS will turn on the Program Plans feature (i.e., Extended Profile) for the 2022-2023 application cycle where all applicants will be asked to answer when they plan to begin the program, thus providing additional details for in-progress applicants.
    • Transfer Settings Feature Available to Institution Managers Only. With this enhancement, only the institution manager can initiate the Transfer Settings feature, where templates from a previous cycle are carried forward into the new WebAdMIT cycle. This enhancement ensures that the primary user at an institution, who typically has access to all templates, is the user transferring templates forward.
    • "Resume/CV" document type in the Configuration Portal. "Resume/CV" is now available for programs to select as a required or optional document type in their Q4 setup in the Configuration Portal.

    NOTE
: Some changes listed were enabled after the 2021-2022 cycle launched. Many CAS only highlight changes to their participating programs on an annual basis. As such, some previous changes have been included in the list to ensure that all users are aware.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly to avoid cluttering inboxes. If similar questions are received, I will make sure to clarify that information with everyone.

    Thanks,
    Katie
