  • 1.  Using SJT in the Admissions Process

    Posted 02-08-2022 08:25 AM

We are exploring the possibility of incorporating Situational Judgement Tests (SJT) into our admissions process and are curious how many programs currently utilize SJT in their admissions process. If you do, is it incorporated into the interview day or is it something you have the candidates do prior to the interview day?

    Thanks so much,

We used to administer a SJT on our interview day, but discontinued it many years ago.  If you are considering the use of such a test, I think it is really necessary to think through what you actually intend to accomplish by using such a test. What types of students do you want to exclude from being admitted that you are now admitting?  And what types of students do you hope to admit that you are not currently admitting?
