Innovative Teaching Approaches in the Classroom

The goals of the webinar are to explore innovative teaching approaches/methodologies that may be incorporated in a pharmacy curriculum and/or course. This webinar will spotlight the use of a longitudinal case model to teach practice skills and the use of gamification in coursework.

Objectives:

Patient Assessment: It's a Family Affair

  • Describe the integration of a multi-cultural, multi-generational family into a patient assessment course
  • Create comprehensive cases to be incorporated into a patient assessment course
  • Articulate key components for student success in a family-modeled course

How to raise your teaching game with gamification

  • Identify optimal use of gamification in education (concept of deliberate practice, application and practice of known content)
  • Demonstrate practical games for use in and outside the classroom
