Laboratory Instructors SIG Innovation: A Showcase of the 2019 Laboratory Innovation and Teaching Excellence (LITE) Award Winners

The Laboratory Instructors SIG is pleased to showcase our LITE Award winners in this webinar. Part 1: Suicide claims the life of 1 person every 12 minutes and is a leading cause of death. It is now time for pharmacy to take action. Washington State University will describe how a 3.5 hour mixed online and live training for student pharmacists on suicide awareness and prevention was implemented in a skills laboratory. Part 2: University of Florida will describe how a new lab was created using new technology in a fun and engaging environment to help students understand pharmacy law and how it applies to everyday practice. Using poll response technology, students were tasked to act in teams as the Board of Pharmacy to evaluate actual disciplinary cases pulled from the Board of Pharmacy Public Books. This webinar will review how this activity was designed and implemented.
