    Dear Members:

The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) sent a memo to all CEO deans in late April 2022 titled, "ACPE Update: Admission Interview Expectations" relative to Standard 16, Key Element 16.7, which states, "Standardized interviews (in-person, telephonic, and/or computer-facilitated) of applicants are conducted as a part of the admission process to assess affective domain characteristics (i.e., the Personal and Professional Development domain articulated in Standard 4)." See attached.

In response to the memo and related questions from member schools, AACP staff contacted ACPE to seek clarification on the use of asynchronous assessments as holistic elements in the pharmacy admissions process. ACPE confirmed that schools are permitted to use the timed video and timed written assessments offered by Kira Talent or other commercial products as part of a holistic admissions process but not in lieu of a live interactive interview component with the applicant (in-person or virtual).

If you are interested in learning more about the holistic admission tools offered by Kira Talent, please contact sales@kiratalent.com or visit the Kira website. See also the recent Kira webinar here.

Please contact ACPE directly if you need additional clarification regarding the memo or the Standards.
