Call for Microsessions for the 2020 AACP Admissions Workshop
AACP invites you to submit a microsession proposal for the 2020 Admissions Workshop: Leadership in Enrollment Management on July 17-18 in Long Beach, California. Proposals are due by January 31. Go to https://fs16.formsite.com/AACP/2020WorkshopMicro/index.html.

    ABOUT MICROSESSIONS
Microsessions allow attendees to learn about a variety of important issues in a short amount of time. Each speaker will provide a brief, 5-7 minute presentation followed by 2 minutes of Q&A.  Presenters may use PowerPoint – but no more than 5 slides, emphasizing visuals rather than text. AACP is seeking proposals on the following topics:

    1. TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE: Speakers will spotlight innovative ways to use contemporary technology as part of an effective and evidence-based student recruitment campaign with tools such as Google tags, social media, geofencing, texting, videos, and gamification.
    2. PERSUASIVE COMMUNICATION: Students in the pipeline are inundated by a deluge of information on a daily basis. Speakers will describe successful strategies to cut through the noise and create effective messaging that is responsive to the needs and expectations of the Gen Z population.

    SUBMISSION RULES

Submit microsession proposals online by 11:59 pm PT on Friday, January 31, 2020. The form differs from the one for the AACP Annual Meeting (now closed). Only one speaker is permitted per microsession. Members and non-members are eligible to submit. AACP will share decisions on proposals by March 1, 2020. All invited speakers must register and pay to attend the 2020 Admissions Workshop and are responsible for their own travel expenses.

WHAT'S NEW WITH THE 2020 WORKSHOP
In response to the 2018-2019 Student Affairs Standing Committee report, AACP created a new Admissions Workshop Advisory Committee. The goal of the restructured workshop program is to enhance the leadership skills of administrators, faculty, and staff in enrollment management roles, so they may better navigate the current challenges and opportunities facing pharmacy education. Workshop attendees will participate in highly interactive sessions and learn how to successfully move their program's student recruitment and admissions processes forward and manage change in an age of disruption. The workshop is scheduled on Friday, July 17 (8:00 am-5:00 pm) and Saturday, July 18 (8:00 am-1:00 pm), and will be followed by the inaugural Student Recruitment Event (2:00-5:00 pm) before the AACP Annual Meeting officially begins that evening. Additional details and registration will be available by spring 2020.
