Request for Girl Scout/Pharmacist Connection

AACP is exploring opportunities for partnership with the Girls Scouts Nation's Capital, the largest regional council in the U.S. As a first step, we are looking to highlight current pharmacists who actively participated in the Girls Scouts during their youth for at least one year. The selected individual(s) will be featured in a future blog post on Pharm4Me. If you are a pharmacist and former Girls Scout, or can connect us to any alumni or preceptors who were, please contact me directly at rwalker@aacp.org by June 21st.

AACP's goal is to connect the Girl Scout community with Pharm4Me, so that all involved are better aware of pharmacy as an outstanding STEM career for girls. The Girls Scouts organization serves over 1.7 million girls across the US and focuses on key areas that include entrepreneurship & leadership, active learning, outdoors, and STEM. The STEM initiative offers high-quality programming throughout the year, increases girls interest and confidence in STEM, and reaches more underserved girls.

We will share more on our progress at the regional and national level as it develops. If your institution currently engages Girl Scout troupes about pharmacy education or careers, please share your experiences and ideas with us in the meantime.
